Manchester United are now named among the potential suitors for the signing of Torino defender Gleison Bremer.
The information comes today from Italian outlet Fanta Calcio, who says the player’s contract situation currently ‘scares’ the Serie A side.
Bremer doesn’t seem keen on agreeing a renewal, and since Torino are about to lose Andrea Belotti for free, they don’t want to go through the same situation with the defender in 2023.
That means the next year will be decisive, and Manchester United are named as one of the clubs who are keen on him, along with others from England and Italy.
Fanta Calcio claims that as things stand, Bremer would cost between €20m and €25m, and as proof that he’d like to leave Torino as soon as possible, they take one of his recent quotes as a message for club president Urbano Cairo.
“I want to play a great season at the club but my dream is to play in the Champions League. In the national team, I’m not taken into consideration because the coaches do not follow a team that do not play for trophies and, moreover, they fight to save themselves.”
So unless the situation has a tragic change, we’re about to see a transfer saga coming up for the Brazilian player, with Manchester United currently in the Premier League.
Whether the Red Devils need a new centre-back after recently signing Raphaël Varane, however, remains to be seen.
