Manchester United’s chase for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar was reported by Italian outlet FC Inter News on Wednesday evening.

The website writes that the Red Devils have seen their interest in the player ‘rekindled’ with the good season he’s been having in Serie A.

It’s claimed the Premier League side are looking for a central defender in the summer, and to take him from Inter Milan, it would cost them at least €50m.

FC Inter News, however, says the Nerazzurri are not be very concerned about Skriniar’s departure. The report claims the defender is happy in Italy, and with the club’s finances growing, there’s not the big need for a sale.

But a different point of view was shared on Wednesday morning, when Corriere Dello Sport reported that Inter Milan have missed a deadline for payments regarding the transfer of Romelu Lukaku.

It was suggested that the Serie A club could settle their debts with the Red Devils by sending some of their players, and Skriniar was pointed out as one of those who Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would be interested in.

Even though the Premier League side would still need to spend extra for the operation to happen, as the debt is lower than the player’s value, perhaps that’d be a good opportunity for both clubs.
