It feels like almost a tradition that ahead of, and during, any transfer window, Manchester United will be linked with one of (or both!) Koke or Saul.

This time it’s Saul Niguez who is getting all the attention, mainly because he’s thought to be uncomfortable at Atletico Madrid right now, and the club would listen to offers for a sale.

Saul wasn’t in Spain’s Euro 2020 squad which perhaps gave him the realisation his career isn’t quite on the path he wants it to be. Monday’s edition of AS states Manchester United are ‘very attentive’ to the player’s situation, and they also mention interest from rivals City and Liverpool.

AS state Saul ‘wants to leave’, although Atletico will only allow that if they receive a ‘great offer’.

What a great offer is for Saul at the moment is under a lot of question. AS put his market value at €40m, so presumably anything above that would be good for the 26-year-old.

Such a figure probably wouldn’t be a problem for Manchester United, but it must be said that, once again, it feels like their interest is being talked up without an awful lot to back it up right now.
