AS Monaco forward Anthony Musaba has revealed that it is his ‘ultimate dream’ to play for either Manchester United or Real Madrid.

19-year-old Musaba currently finds himself on loan with Belgian side Cercle Brugge, where he has two goals and one assist in eight games this season.

The youngster returned to Belgium this season after moving to Monaco from NEC Nijmegen in a £2.25m deal in the summer.

The Dutch winger has been making waves in the Netherlands for some time, managing eight goals and two assists in 26 games for NEC’s U19’s before continuing his fine form with the senior side, bagging nine goals and five assists in 31 games.

He will be hoping to continue his development with Cercle before returning to Monaco next year, although it seems he’s already got his eyes on a bigger prize.

“AS Monaco has experience in training and bringing through young players,” he told Voetbal Primeur.

“A lot of young people breakthrough at Monaco and then have a great career. That is, of course, my dream to break through and to be able to and continue to play at a high level.

“The first goal after this season is to return to Monaco and breakthrough there.

“My ultimate dream is to be able to play at Wembley one day. The English league is my favourite competition.

“Manchester United and Real Madrid are my favourite teams. That would be the ultimate dream.”

Whether Musaba ends up at Old Trafford in the near future remains to be seen, but his chances are certainly good, particularly with the current regime.

Manchester United have made it a club policy to target young players they can develop for the future, as we saw with their transfer business this summer.

That’s a strategy they’re likely to stick with moving forward and perhaps if Musaba continues to impress, particularly at Monaco, he’ll catch their eye.
