Centre-back Oumar Solet was linked with a move to West Ham in the last summer transfer window. With the player now at Udinese, interest from the Hammers has returned and Manchester United have also emerged as a candidate.

The Frenchman has impressed at the Italian side this season, even though he is only months into his stint at the club.

A sale can now take place in the summer, with Messaggero Veneto reporting on the 25-year-old’s future.

They state that both Manchester United and West Ham have tested the waters for the defender, who didn’t sign a long-term deal at Udinese initially on joining, and his current contract runs out in the summer of 2027.

Encouragement is presented to the suitors as the Pozzo family’s club have already sought replacements for Solet. Sion’s Gora Diouf could be signed, if the ex-Red Bull Salzburg player departs in the summer.

Manchester United and West Ham could have a stiff task in the race, as Udinese will only negotiate offers that are at over €40m… although that could be bravado.
