Despite winning the Carabao Cup, getting to the FA Cup final and appearing to be well on their way to qualifying for next season’s Champions League, Manchester United still need a new striker.

The Wout Weghorst stopgap experiment has only produced so much, which is why we keep seeing the Red Devils being linked with Victor Osimhen.

The Napoli star has been a target for Manchester United since last summer, which Calciomercato recall on Monday, and the idea is that they are ready to ‘make a comeback’ in the next transfer window.

The Italian outlet look at what the future could hold for the Nigeria international, and it’s stated that two clubs ‘have already made it clear’ they are looking for a player like him.

Those are Manchester United and Bayern Munich, who respectively lost Cristiano Ronaldo and Robert Lewandowski in very different scenarios this season.

As for the price, the request from Aurelio De Laurentiis’ end is ‘clear and known’, and he wants €150m for his player ‘with our without bonuses’.

That means there’s room for some negotiations there, and the money doesn’t necessarily have to be up front, but as long as it eventually reaches that figure, there is a deal to be made for Manchester UNited.
