Erik ten Hag, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez and Antony aren’t the only signings Manchester United tried to make from the Eredivisie this summer. It’s been widely reported the Red Devils had more targets, with some players even confirming the interest.

This is the case of Brian Brobbey, the Ajax striker who was said to be one of the names on the list. The forward himself revealed the talks in the final week of the window, and claimed he was contacted by the Dutch manager and turned down the invite.

It turns out that the 20-year-old hasn’t completely closed doors for a Manchester United switch. In fact, he may actually dream of playing for the Old Trafford side.

Brobbey has beeninterviewed by ESPN in the Netherlands, and had several random questions to answer. There he revealed he had wanted to be a tennis player when growing up, and when quizzed about a club he’d like to play for, his answer was “Manchester United”.

Covering the quotes, Voetbal International even points out the player had turned down Erik ten Hag’s approach this summer. Regardless of that, we all know the Red Devils would still need to find an agreement with Ajax if they wanted to sign him in the future, and they proved to be tough negotiators this summer.
