On Tuesday, French journalist Nabil Djellit said Lille have accepted Manchester United’s bid of €50m plus €12m bonuses for Leny Yoro. He also stated the centre-back, who has been waiting for Real Madrid, has started talks with the Red Devils over personal terms.
Later that day, Foot Mercato explained that the 18-year-old’s entourage are pushing him towards Manchester United.
RMC Sport point out Real Madrid saw their initial offer of €20m plus €10m bonuses turned down by the Ligue 1 side.
The France U21 international favours Los Blancos, and they could make a new offer to try and secure his services this summer.
The report makes no mention of the fee they are willing to offer, but say one ‘should not at all rule out’ Manchester United. They are ‘still in the running’, mainly because Lille have accepted the English club’s €60m offer.
Djellit’s claim from yesterday is relayed by Wednesday’s edition of AS, who then give their own take on this case.
Yoro has a year left on his deal, and has played 60 games for Lille’s first team. Therefore, the newspaper claims the Champions League winners won’t offer more than €40m, which is less than what Erik ten Hag’s side have already proposed to Lille.
It’s claimed Real Madrid’s ‘firm position’ will give an advantage for Manchester United to sign Yoro.
