Manchester United have added Fiorentina’s Moise Kean to their list of potential striker targets for the summer transfer window.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who report that the Italian striker has ended up on Manchester United’s radar thanks to his performances for Fiorentina.
They explain that Kean has undergone a ‘real metamorphosis’ at the Italian club this season, establishing himself as the attacking leader for the Viola.
He has 17 goals in 30 appearances in the league plus six more in the Coppa Italian and Europe for a combined total of 24 goals in all competitions this season. He’s also scored twice for Italy.
He’s matched Fiorentina legends like Luca Toni and Alberto Gilardino for goals in their first seasons at the club and is the second top goal scorer in Serie A.
That’s not gone unnoticed and major European clubs are watching his performances with interest. According to FM’s information, Manchester United are one of them.
They’re on the hunt for a new striker this summer, in fact, it is an open secret at this point that they intend to sign a forward. FM say there are four names on their list and these are Viktor Gyökeres, Liam Delap, Victor Osimhen and Moise Kean.
FM say if Manchester United fail to make it to the Champions League, which they can do by winning the Europa League, it will be Osimhen or Kean who they target. The latter would be the ‘more profitable profile’.
Now, we’d pour a big layer of salt all over this and point out Kean is having his first good season in a long while and it remains to be seen if he can maintain it.
The quality of that Manchester United list also varies wildly and is made up of four very different profiles of strikers as well. It adds doubt of whether there’d be genuine interest in Kean or if this is agents perhaps using his best season to drum up interest by name dropping Manchester United.
