Manchester City’s offer for Palmeiras defender Vitor Reis is considered ‘low’ at this moment in time because it’s not clear what is fixed and what will be bonuses.

That’s according to journalist André Hernan who reports that the bid from Manchester City for the youngster is very much a ‘first offer’. The Premier League champions intend to increase their bid in the coming days.

Pep Guardiola’s side intend to reach Palmeiras’ €40m demands for Reis. The Brazilian club is in no rush to do a deal for their highly rated youngster. In fact, they have long maintained that they wish to keep him until the summer and in their squad for the extended Club World Cup.

Manchester City have made it clear that they want the 18-year-old now and their first bid was submitted for him this week.

However, Hernan report their bid was ambiguous. Palmeiras remain unclear how much of it is a fixed fee and how much is bonuses. That is seemingly yet to be determined, and they want clarity on the matter.

Perhaps that will come in Manchester City’s second bid, which is very much on the way. For now, their offer is considered ‘low’ by Palmeiras and presumably unacceptable.
