Manchester City’s U23 squad attracts attention from around Europe frequently as clubs look for loans or value permanent deals of players who are about to push through to the big time.
Borussia Dortmund’s capture of Jadon Sancho, and his subsequent colossal rise in value, helped encourage the attention and also saw Bundesliga clubs look more towards English football.
Signing youngsters from Premier League clubs with the hope of later sending them back to England for a big profit is very much a plan several German clubs have looked at, although it’s fair to say the success of the Sancho deal hasn’t been replicated.
Bild now report Bayer Leverkusen are looking towards Manchester City for a recruit in the January window. They’re keen on Amsterdam born Jayden Braf, who is described as a ‘jewel’ of Pep Guardiola’s club.
Bayer are ‘hot’ for the transfer, and whilst it’s not explicitly stated, the report makes it sound like they’d be looking at a permanent transfer for the winger.
Braf has a contract lasting until June 2023, and should Manchester City see a promising future for the 18-year-old then it’s likely they’d look for a buy-back clause in any deal.
