Even though Barcelona seem still hopeful of landing Bernardo Silva from Manchester City this summer, it’s getting quite clear that the midfielder’s move out of the Premier League side is very unlikely.
El Chiringuito journalist José Alvarez today features a report pointing out that it should be too late for the Catalan club to have any chances of getting the signing done.
It’s said Manchester City consider that Barcelona’s time is over, as Pep Guardiola’s side won’t have the necessary time to find a replacement for Bernardo Silva in the market.
The English club even had a substitute in mind, and that was Jorge Mendes client Matheus Nunes, who was praised by the Catalan manager earlier this year, but ended up completing a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers last week.
The former Sporting player was reportedly in Manchester City’s ‘agenda’, and with that possibility now gone, the club are simply not selling Silva.
It’s said the 28-year-old’s entourage already consider a move to Barça as ‘lost’, at least in this transfer window.
That’s why the midfielder is set to find a new place in Manchester and stay there for another season, despite his wish of a departure.
