Yaya Touré’s departure from Manchester City seemed quite certain this summer, especially after Pep Guardiola was appointed as their next manager. However, things have turned out to be different.

In his first interview as City manager, Guardiola talked about Touré as a regular player. And treating him as a normal piece of the squad is the club intention, according to what Sport are claiming in an article from this morning.

The Spanish newspaper says that neither the club nor the manager want to force Toure way out. The only possibility of him leaving would be if they receive a very good offer.

This not only goes against an exit, but also disagrees with what the Italian media have been claiming for a while.

Inter Milan were said to believe that Manchester City would not make it any hard to let the player go, and the Italian club’s biggest concern was his wages. However, if Sport are right, they should prepare a very reasonable bid to take him from England.

Maybe Manchester City are playing Toure’s agent at his own game.
