Manchester City’s interest in Paris Saint Germain fullback Achraf Hakimi is today highlighted by Spanish newspaper Marca.

The outlet features a story saying the treble winners are ‘launching themselves’ for the signing this summer.

Kyle Walker is potentially leaving Manchester City for Bayern Munich this summer. And according to Marca, the chase for Hakimi is the reason for that, and not the consequence.

It’s claimed that Pep Guardiola has asked the club to go after the PSG player, and that’s one of the reasons why the Englishman opened the doors for a departure.

Marca says Manchester City already knocked on PSG’s door to sign Hakimi, and would ‘highly pay a high figure’ to get the operation done.

What makes the chase a little more complicated is that the fullback’s contract with the French club runs until 2026. However, on Pep Guardiola’s side, plays all their recent success that could attract the player.

It’s said Manchester City consider Hakimi ‘essential for the perfect machine’ they have, as Hakimi is claimed to be a ‘right back who wants to dominate a position in European football’. Marca just doesn’t make it clear how much it’d cost to take him from PSG.
