A couple of years ago, Manchester City were claimed to be interested in Dzenan Pejcinovic.

Back then, the youngster had been drawing some attention with his performances for Augsburg’s academy, and with a little race for his signing, Wolfsburg ended up landing him.

Today, German outlet Kicker shares a fresh story claiming Manchester City are ‘trying to secure’ him this summer.

The website doesn’t even recall that old chase, now treating it as fresh, and claiming that Pep Guardiola’s side would like to take him from Wolfsburg.

Pejcinovic, who’s now 18, is still making it to the first team at the Bundesliga side. And while he gets some experience, there’s a doubt on whether they should loan him out or sell.

Kicker highlights the big competition there is in Manchester City’s attack, meaning the youngster would have few chances to play.

However, they also point out that working under Pep Guardiola could be tempting, and the other clubs from the City Group could give him a chance.

Wolfsburg sports director Sebastian Schindzielorz is quoted in the story, though, claiming they have no intention of letting the striker leave.

“We are very happy with Dzenan’s development, and our thoughts are on how we want to continue to push this development forward. Unfortunately, the injury got in the way. That’s why our main priority is to get Dzenan healthy and able to take on pressure again. We hope that he can start training again during the preparation phase, then we’ll see.”
