Juventus FC are reportedly considering to sign Manchester City’s Pablo Zabaleta next summer, according to reports from the Italian press.
As the Argentine’s contract expires at the end of the season, the Turin club could make him sign a pre-contract as early as February.
Calciomercato claims that Stephan Lichtsteiner’s departure from the Old Lady is very likely, and as the club don’t want to only rely on Daniel Alves, they will need another player for the position.
Spanish youngster Pol Lirola is not ready, as he is currently on a two-year loan at Sassuolo, so a signing will be a necessity.
Zabaleta is described as experienced, with a winning mentality, and capable of helping the team immediately. He reportedly wants a club who will give him a good run of games, which, we have to say, might not be a certainty at Juventus, having to fight for the position with Dani Alves.
What Juventus and the Italian press should also consider is the possibility of Zabaleta signing a new contract at Manchester City. Pep Guardiola has already used him ten times this season, so the player isn’t exactly ruled out by the Spanish manager for now.
