Manchester City were keen on signing Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso in the winter transfer window.

The move didn’t go through as Pep Guardiola’s side looked to sign other targets but there has been confidence that Cambiaso can still end up at the Etihad in the summer.

JuveLive have looked at the Italian’s situation and it seems as if Manchester City’s task of signing him is growing harder. There is an indication that Guardiola’s side had tested the waters in January but were met with a high price tag.

While the full-back is ‘very much liked’ by the Citizens, there is keen interest from Barcelona now and they also see him as a summer target. The Catalan club see a lot of value in Cambiaso’s versatile abilities across the pitch.

Juve would want to bleed Barcelona dry to let Cambiaso depart and they are quite clear that they will only accept offers above €50m. The asking price in the winter transfer window was much higher and Bayern Munich have also been linked with the Italy international.

All of this suggests an auction could be growing for the Manchester City target in the summer.
