After every passing month, Kevin de Bruyne’s Manchester City exit seems to edge closer.
Now 33 and not at his physical prime, De Bruyne is someone City would want a replacement for as soon as they can, should they know he’s leaving.
InterLive report that the chances of De Bruyne signing a new deal at City are quite low and that there are no ‘appropriate circumstances’ for a renewal. San Diego FC are mentioned as a potential destination for the Belgian.
At the same time, the outlet also mention that a replacement is being sought and Inter’s Nicolo Barella is a potential target.
Pep Guardiola could soon shift his attention to pursuing a move for the Italian, who is arguably one of the best midfielders in the world right now.
The suggestion is that the road to signing Barella will be complicated. While City will have no issues in covering the cost midfielder, Inter are hesitant about selling a key player in Simone Inzaghi’s squad.
On top of that, there are also doubts about Guardiola’s future and the club’s plans could change, depending on whether a new manager comes in or not.
