Fenerbahce coach Dick Advocaat has once again shown his ruthless side by sending Gregory van der Wiel and Emmanuel Emenike to the reserve team. Advocaat reportedly told both players they are only interested in money and will have no future at the club under him.
Former PSG right back Van der Wiel’s absence has forced Fenerbahçe find a new right back in the next transfer window. Advocaat has included a right on his transfer list and now TakvimSpor report Fenerbahçe are showing an interest in Manchester City’s Pablo Zabaleta.
The Argentine right back will be out of the contract this summer, and Fenerbahçe are already in serious contact with Manchester City claims TakvimSpor.
The 31-year-old is no longer a regular starter, with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola rotating him and Bacary Sagna for the right back position.
With 54-caps under his belt for Argentina, Zabaleta could be a very good signing for Fenerbahçe.
The Argentina international has a vast amount of experience and has played at the highest level for club and country. With Advocaat looking for committed battlers, he’s probably found a perfect candidate in Zabaleta.
The former Espanyol and Malaga player is now in his 9th season at Manchester City where he’s won two Premier League titles.
