Some Manchester City fans may remember the many links the club had to the Brazilian wonderkid Vitinho a couple of years ago.
The Corinthians forward was only 15 years old at the time, and even trained at Manchester City’s facilities for a couple of days.
But after a big saga, the youngster ended up signing his first professional contract for the Brazilian club at the age of 16, leaving the move to England as a possibility for later.
Now Italian website Calcio Mercato comes up with an exclusive report saying Roma would be keeping an eye on the player, but it’s still Pep Guardiola’s side who are leading the race.
They claim that although there are many clubs who like the youngster, it’s only Manchester City’s who have made ‘concrete steps’ to have him. But now with this Corinthians deal signed, the player has a €25m release clause and will be pretty hard to get.
We believe it’s very unlikely that Corinthians will negotiate before he even makes his professional debut for the club, so unless Manchester City want to make a Vinicius Jr. type of deal, they better wait for another couple of years.
