Claudio Bravo had a baptism of fire for Manchester City. Thrown in against Manchester United, it seemed half the football world would be watching the match, if the hype was anything to judge upon.
Bravo made a mistake which led to Zlatan Ibrahimovic scoring for Jose Mourinho’s men, but Pep Guardiola fully backed him after the match and Manchester City’s excellent performance, and win, did a lot to take the attention away from errors.
Speaking to the Spanish media about his Barcelona exit, Bravo has explained he’s fitting into life at Manchester City easily, because the club’s new style under Guardiola matches what he was used to at Barcelona… and that includes risk.
Catalan newspaper Sport quote the Chile international as saying: “It makes me comfortable the way they play, because it’s the same model as at Barca, with bringing the ball out the role of the goalkeeper and the risk of playing with the feet.”
Clubs will try to catch Bravo out this season, there’s no doubt about that, but first they’d have to get close enough, and the goalkeeper sounds entirely calm with his new club and country.
