Manchester City star Sergio Aguero has revealed that Pep Guardiola had the desire to manage the Argentine national team.

Speaking to TyC Sports, the striker said he had conversations with the Catalan boss during which he was told that a call would have been enough to take manager to South America.

Aguero was talking about Guardiola and was asked what the manager says about Argentina, so out of nothing, he decided to reveal the chat, which the Manchester City player says went like this:

“You didn’t call me. I’d be delighted to manage you,” said Guardiola.

“Really?” asked Aguero.

“Yes. But you didn’t call me!”

The Manchester City player also told the reporters that people in England don’t believe him when he says how much Lionel Messi is criticised in Argentina, and explained that things are completely different in the two countries.

After many doubts about his fitness, Sergio Aguero is set to play against Paraguay tonight. Argentina are currently in fifth place in the table, but only three points behind the leaders Uruguay.
