John Stones receives more criticism than praise and the 23 year old former Everton defender has shown repeatedly that he’s not quite the finished product yet.

However, Pep Guardiola will be glad that he can mould the defender into what he wants, as long as the Englishman takes on the instructions well.

Whilst confidence has never really been something Stones lacks, his ego will have been given a boost by two goals against Feyenoord. The Manchester City defender was Man of the Match in the 4-0 victory, as Guardiola’s men made the potential tricky opener look relatively easy.

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo have started picking their own Champions League of the Week, and Stones has made his way in.

One of three Premier League players, Stones is said to have highlighted his general good performance with the two goals.

Manchester City face Watford at 3pm on Saturday, and will be hoping to keep up their recent run of form.
