This month is when Portugal’s big clubs have their accounts published and therefore detailed by the country’s media.
That inevitably leads to transfer business being looked at in detail, and financial clauses which weren’t previously known now being confirmed.
Friday’s edition of Record has an article on the details involved in Pedro Porro’s permanent move from Manchester City to Sporting CP. It’s explained the move, which had initially been made on a loan basis, was completed for €8.8m.
As part of the deal, Pep Guardiola’s side have secured themselves 30% of the profit from a future transfer, so 30% of anything over that €8.8m figure.
Porro has a release clause with Sporting worth €45m and if the defender were to move for that amount, then Manchester City would receive around €12m.
According to the same report, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona have already showed interest in the Spanish international, so a transfer for the 22-year-old could happen as soon as next summer.
