Despite going silent in the past couple of weeks, Manchester City’s chase for Borna Sosa is back on being commented by the European media.
The information now comes from Bild journalist Christian Falk, who points out that Pep Guardiola’s side should miss out on Marc Cucurella, who prefers a transfer to Chelsea.
The reporter claims it’s ‘true’ that Manchester City see Sosa as an alternative for the left-back position.
It was in mid-July that the Premier League side were first linked to the Stuttgart player. The story came from the Italian media, where it was claimed that Juventus and the Premier League champions were both chasing the 24-year-old.
So it’s interesting to see the rumour being backed up by the German media, with Falk claiming it’s now their own information. He states Stuttgart will demand between €20m and €25m from Manchester City for the transfer.
Sosa could end up being a much cheaper alternative than Cucurella, and with no reported competition for his signing, Pep Guardiola could find a much easier path for that transfer.
