Manchester City are ‘prepared to spend the necessary amount’ to sign Michael Olise from Crystal Palace this summer and ‘appear willing’ to trigger his release clause.

That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who say it is ‘very probable’ that the Crystal Palace star will end up at the Etihad this summer.

The treble winners are on the hunt for a replacement for Riyad Mahrez, who left the club at the end of last month in a €35m move to Saudi Arabian side Ah-Ahli.

While that has by no means left Manchester City short, there is a considerable hole in Pep Guardiola’s squad, with Mahrez having been a key player for the last five years.

TMW report that the man who could replace him is Olise, who is being ‘coveted by many English big names’ this summer.

They explain that the Crystal Palace star has already been approached by Chelsea but according to their information, it is ‘very probable’ that Manchester City will be the ones who secure his signature.

They are ‘pressing’ to make a move happen in the coming weeks and are ‘willing to spend the necessary amount’ to get him out of Selhurst Park.

Fortunately for them that is £35m, as Olise contract with Crystal Palace contains a release clause at that figure, which translates to €40m. That’s a figure the Citizen’s ‘appear willing to exercise’, which we’re sure will be terrible news to everyone at Crystal Palace.
