Spain’s El Confidencial have a feature on Wednesday covering Steven N’Zonzi. The 28 year old midfielder is having an excellent season with Sevilla, and that’s obviously pushed him into the rumour mill.
Many clubs have been linked with a move for N’Zonzi, but El Confidencal narrow it down to Manchester City and Juventus. Pep Guardiola’s club, along with Juve, are both prepared to pay the player’s €30m buyout clause for a January transfer.
For that to happen, the player has to agree and right now he doesn’t. Given the excellent season Sevilla are having, N’Zonzi just isn’t interested in moving away.
Manchester City and Juventus are said to have already contacted Sevilla, but they of course wouldn’t negotiate downward from €30m anyway, it’s considered a good price.
Whilst N’Zonzi isn’t interested in a move at the moment, things may well change come the summer and El Confidencial doesn’t sound too hopeful about Sevilla’s chances of keeping the player.
