Sergio Agüero’s illustrious career at Manchester City will come to an end later this month in Porto when the Citizens face Chelsea in the Champions League final.

Pep Guardiola’s side will need to bring in a new striker to replace the Argentine in their squad next season.

Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland has been identified as one of the targets and earlier this month, his advisor, Mino Raiola, opened the door for a potential transfer to the Etihad.

The 21-year-old is also wanted by other clubs, including Barcelona and Real Madrid.

TV3 state Ronald Koeman’s side have ‘ruled out’ signing the goalscoring striker in the upcoming window, and it’s relayed in today’s Mundo Deportivo.

‘Given the economic situation’ of the Catalan club and the money needed to complete the Noway international’s signing, the operation is ‘unaffordable’ for Barcelona.

As per TV3, the La Liga side want to focus on renewing Lionel Messi’s contract that expires on June 30th.

Although the Blaugrana have given up on signing Haaland this summer, they haven’t lost hope of landing him in 2022, when his release clause will be set at €75m.

For that, however, Barcelona will face ‘imminent threat’ from Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain for the BVB star, who has 39 goals and 12 assists to his name in all competitions this season.
