Chile’s crisis for not qualifying for the World Cup is still not over, and Manchester City’s Claudio Bravo is right in the middle of it.

Now that manager Reinaldo Rueda is taking charge of the squad, the boss must fix some pieces before things get back to normal.

There has always been some speculation about disagreements in the squad, even though it had never been confirmed by a player or the former manager.

But now that Rueda is in the job, he wasn’t afraid of talking about it, and even the local press were surprised when naming two players who aren’t on good terms. These are Bayern Munich’s Arturo Vidal and Manchester City’s Claudio Bravo.

Speaking on a press conference this Tuesday, Rueda said: “We must take advantage of the meeting that Arturo and Claudio will have in Stockholm so that they can talk, clean up with each other, clean up with the group, make that mental washing, where each one from his perspective exposes his situations” (via El Mercurio).

“Claudio has always seen in Vidal someone special and noble, Arturo admires Claudio, there is a special feeling of friendship between them, and now they will meet and I hope it is positive for the national team.”

“I talked to the rest of the players and explained that the social situation happened through a third person, Arturo and Claudio love each other, respect each other, admire each other and what happened is secondary, because I believe in their professionalism and they both want continue playing for the national team.”

The rumours about the fallout between Bravo and Vidal started last year, when the goalkeeper’s girlfriend made a post on Instagram accusing players of going to parties, and then training while drunk. That would be a reference to Vidal, who should now settle things with Bravo face to face.
