With the Chilean media always following the local players who feature for European clubs, Claudio Bravo’s first title for Manchester City would obviously get some coverage.
Several outlets gave some attention to the Carabao Cup trophy, which was the goalkeeper’s first silverware since leaving Barcelona in 2016.
But it was quite interesting how outlet La Tercera covered it, since instead of writing only about the title, they wanted to make an analysis of what will be of Bravo’s future.
They claim that since the goalkeeper isn’t expected to play in the Premier League or the Champions League this season, it’s time for him to think about what he’ll do in the summer market.
They say the only reason Bravo would stay is ‘economical’, and completely ignore the fact that the player is part of one of the best squads in the world right now.
Another weird assumption is claiming that in England, Bravo was ‘never forgiven’ for taking Joe Hart’s place at Manchester City, since the English keeper was the ‘national team’s starter and fanbase’s idol’.
So even though we all know Hart left City because Pep Guardiola and a big part of fans and media believed he was not good enough for the club, La Tercera somehow thinks Bravo is a victim of taking his place, and could never really recover from that.
