Manchester City youngster Benjamín Garré is expected to sign a deal with Argentine club Racing ‘before the end of the year’ after undergoing a medical on Boxing Day.

Garré joined City from Velez in 2016 but despite making 61 appearances for the club’s various youth sides, is yet to break into the first-team squad.

That’s now looking unlikely to happen, with a report from TyC Sports on Monday saying a deal had been agreed with Racing for a permanent transfer.

He was expected to sign a contract at the club next week, and El Dia say that is now a step closer to happening.

They report that Garré underwent a medical at the club yesterday, and have the picture to prove it, before ‘formalising his arrival’ from Manchester City.

He will now sign his contract with his new club ‘before the end of the year’ and bring his short stint with Manchester City to an end.

The website offers no details on how the medical went, or what kind of deal he is signing, just that he’s now undergone his medical and appears to be one step closer to finalising his move.
