Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo continues to be a controversial figure in Chile. It’s hard finding a story about him in the local press which doesn’t have some issue or another included.

Last week, there was a rumour saying he had problems with his injury which would leave him unavailable for a longer period, although it was later dismissed by the player and by the club.

Now outlet La Tercera comes up with a story saying Bravo hasn’t even been contacted by the Chilean national team since his injury at the start of the season.

They point out that important players such as Alexis Sanchez, Arturo Vidal and Gary Medel haven’t posted any support for the goalkeeper on their social media accounts.

But the worse thing is that no one from the staff has called the player or sent a message, according to people close to Bravo.

La Tercera heard a couple of sources from the Chilean national team, but don’t buy their excuses over why Bravo hasn’t been contacted.

One person who asked not to be identified said it’s the club who should take care of him, while the other said it’s a standard procedure for long-term recoveries. But La Tercera points out that’s all a lie, since a doctor has flown to Europe just to take care of Arturo Vidal when he had a knee problem.

Meanwhile, Claudio Bravo claims to be working hard to play in the Copa America for Chile, although he’s clearly not the most loved person in the squad.
