Raheem Sterling isn’t only in Gazzetta dello Sport’s European Team of the Week, he’s also the most highly rated player in the selection.

Each week the grand old Italian newspaper pick a selection of the best performers from around European football, whilst ignoring their own Serie A.

There’s usually three picks from the Premier League and that’s the case again this week. Manchester City’s Sterling is joined by Felipe Anderson of West Ham and Andy Robertson of Liverpool.

Sterling scored two goals and contributed two assists as Pep Guardiola’s men hammered Southampton 6-1 to further underline their good start to the season.

For Sterling himself that’s six goals and five assists in Premier League matches so far this campaign.

Gazzetta award the 23 year old a 9/10 grade which is very high indeed considering how strict the newspaper are with such marks.

That /9/10 makes Raheem Sterling the Italian newspaper’s most highly rated player this week.
