On Monday, the Italian newspaper brought back the idea that Juventus could go after Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus.
The Brazilian has been a long time target of the Serie A side, but a deal was never really doable due to his importance to Pep Guardiola’s plans, especially with an injury prone and ageing Sergio Agüero ahead of him.
With the Argentine now heading to Barcelona, however, and Manchester City linked with some big names strikers, notably Harry Kane, the situation can change.
That being said, ‘everything obviously depends on the future of Cristiano Ronaldo’, but the belief is newly appointed Max Allegri is setting up his attack without the Portuguese superstar in mind.
It’s explained by Gazzetta dello Sport that Gabriel Jesus is in a ‘delicate situation’ at Manchester City, and the arrival of Kane could put both him and Raheem Sterling ‘at the door’, especially since the emergence of Phil Foden.
That’s why Juventus are hopeful of putting together a ‘complex operation’, meaning a loan ‘and the possibility of a long-term redemption’, similar to that of Federico Chiesa.
Despite all this, ‘it’s too early to think about a real negotiation, but there has already been some in-depth analysis’, and intermediaries have ‘set to work on the subject’.
Definitely something to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
