Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo has given his approval to a potential loan move to Valencia.
Cancelo joined City from Juventus in the summer transfer window in a deal that saw Danilo heading the other way.
However, he has struggled to establish himself at the Etihad and made just four starts in the Premier League to date.
Recent weeks have seen suggestions that he could be set to depart, with Bayern Munich and Valencia both named as suitors.
AS confirm Valencia’s interest today and say that the Manchester City defender is ‘the first on the list’ for the Spanish club.
Peter Lim is determined to bring Cancelo, who played for Valencia between 2014 and 2018, back to the club on loan until the end of the season.
Cancelo, who is represented by Jorge Mendes, has already given his okay to the deal as he is playing less than he would like at City and that’s not good for him given Euro 2020 is just around the corner.
Manchester City, though, and not ‘uncomfortable’ with the situation and will seemingly be resistant to any deal.
As far as Pep Guardiola is concerned the player has been well used given he has played all six group games in the Champions League and three Carabao Cup games as well.
