At the weekend, Calciomercato reported Manchester City have been insisting for weeks to sign Torino’s Samuele Ricci.
AC Milan are also keen and MilanLive.it brings the latest on the competition they will face from Manchester City for the midfielder.
Their title says Pep Guardiola makes ‘Milan cry’ with ‘maxi offer’ to take the 23-year-old to the Etihad.
Ricci is the main midfield target for the Rossoneri and the possibility of him joining them has been gaining strength in recent weeks.
Manchester City, on the other hand, want to beat the Serie A side in the race for the Italy international. Guardiola is ‘ready to steal’ Ricci and his side have an offer ready that could be difficult for Torino to reject.
It’s claimed the Citizens plan to table an ‘indispensable offer’ of €35m for a player who has over 18 months left on his deal. If the Premier League winners were to send this offer, Milan would risk losing out on Ricci.
It’s not mentioned whether Manchester City plan to make bid in January or next summer. Rodri’s long-term absence and series of poor results may see Guardiola’s side approach for Ricci or another midfielder in the winter market.
