Fabián Ruiz is not short of suitors as reports coming out of Italy and Spain have talked about Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City interest in him over the past few months.
On November 19th, CalcioNapoli24 reported Pep Guardiola ‘is in love’ with the Spain international and similar claims has been relayed by Calciomercato today.
It’s claimed the Premier League winners’ manager liked the 23-year-old, and it’s ‘no longer a mystery’. They plan to bring in two new midfielders next summer and the Serie A star’s name is included in the list.
The Etihad club have followed Fabian on more than one occasion and have no plans to stop anytime soon.
City have ‘another mission’ planned to watch Fabián in action in December and their intention is to understand the fee needed to sign him after this season.
His contract at Napoli expires in 2023 and Aurelio De Laurentiis’s plan is to tie him down to a new deal, with a higher release clause. However, his camp wants the Italian side to insert a lower buyout clause.
This, coupled with the developing crisis at the Naples based club, has slowed down the renewal talks considerably.
