Spanish side CD Castellón are in talks with Manchester City over a move for midfielder Paolo Fernandes.
That’s according to Super Deporte, who state that only an agreement between the two clubs is stopping a move from happening.
Super report that the sources close to the club have told them at Castellón have been watching the Manchester City ‘for some time.’.
Those same sources also say he is a player who is ‘to the liking’ of manager Óscar Cano, who is aware of the player courtesy of his ‘close ties’ with members of City’s staff and the club’s academy.
Thus they are now ‘working to reach an agreement’ on the player’s salary so that it can be shared between themselves and Manchester City.
That would suggest they are exploring a loan deal for the 22-year-old, although the report does not state this explicitly.
Either way, Fernandes is keen on the move and the only thing missing for a deal is an agreement between the two clubs, which is something Castellón are working on.
Should the deal go through it will be the latest in a series of loans for Fernandes, who has also spent time at NAC Breda and Perugia during his time with City.
