Manchester City may be involved in the race for Cruzeiro youngster Luis Fernando.
As the striker stands out for his club’s U-20, side, we now get to see two outlets speaking about the big interest from European clubs.
Both Marca and IG have stories saying Manchester City’s owners at the City Group are chasing the wonderkid, as well as Porto and an unnamed club from Spain.
All those sides made approaches for the signing, but none of them seem to have placed bids for now.
Luis Fernando actually belongs to Agua Santa, and his agents are working on the permanent move to Cruzeiro. That issue should be settled before a move to Europe is negotiated.
The reason the Spanish media is excited about this story is that the youngster has better numbers than Vitor Roque, who’s soon joining Barcelona, at Cruzeiro’s youth ranks.
And since the Brazilian club belongs to Ronaldo, that creates a bigger expectation for a young striker coming out of it.
It’s not yet clear whether the City Group would buy the player for Manchester City or another one of their sides. Either way, that gives Pep Guardiola’s side a big chance of holding him if they want.
