Manchester City and their owners are again looking to the future and recruiting players for partner clubs.
Dutch outlet ED report City have made an offer for PSV’s 19-year-old striker Jason van Duiven, who had spent the second half of last season on loan at Almere City.
The report states Manchester City ‘offer a large amount’ for the teenager, who is yet to play for the Dutch giants’ first-team but has impressed a fair bit for their youth ranks.
City’s plan, it is reported, is to send Van Duiven to Lommel, who are part of the City Group. The belief is that the striker has a huge future ahead of him and City are working to make sure that he stays part of their network.
Of course, in football terms €2m doesn’t appear to be a ‘large amount’, so presumably there’s a feeling it’s specifically big in this case.
Van Duiven is keen on having regular playing time as a first-team player and there is interest from other Dutch clubs. An agreement with City is yet to be reached by PSV but the player is open to the move.
