Toulouse may well have a fight on their hands this summer to keep hold of Issa Diop. The 19 year old made his debut for Toulouse in November, against Nice, and has since gone on to become an important player for the club.
That rise to prominence has understandably attracted interest from elsewhere, and L’Equipe cover the situation in their Monday edition. The French newspaper believe the young defender is now one of the most watched players on the European circuit, having overcome an injury setback in 2014.
It’s claimed that this summer Manchester City, AS Roma, and FC Porto have all ‘concretely expressed interest’ in signing Diop.
Germany’s Red Bull Leipzig have also come forward in the past few days, but the youngster is continuing to live life normally. L’Equipe explain Diop still lives in an apartment with his mother and three siblings, and Toulouse probably want to keep it that way.
When the time comes to sell Diop, who is vastly experienced at international youth football with France, they’ll want it to be for more than they’d perhaps get now.
