On Sunday, Manchester City sealed a 3-1 win over West Ham United and it helped them confirm their fourth title in a row.

West Ham’s Lucas Paquetá was on the pitch for 86 minutes and would have been part of the Citizens squad, if his move to the Etihad had gone through last summer. Manchester City remain interested in the 26-year-old.

Last month, Fichajes stated Pep Guardiola’s side have a ‘salary agreement’ in place with the West Ham star.

Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna now took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to bring the latest on Manchester City’s pursuit of the attacking midfielder. He backs up claims of the Premier League winners agreeing personal terms with his agents.

According to Aouna, the Brazil international’s ‘priority’ is to join Manchester City, who will take the necessary steps to sign him in the summer window.

Paquetá’s deal lasts until 2027, with an option for another year, and includes an £85m release clause.

The journalist adds that in the ‘next weeks’, Manchester City will negotiate a deal with West Ham, and if an agreement can’t be reached, the English champions will activate his clause.

In other words, everything points to the West Ham player ending up at Manchester City in the next window.
