Brahim Diaz doesn’t want to leave Manchester City on loan this summer. The 18 year old would much rather stick around and be given some chances by manager Pep Guardiola.

The Premier League champions aren’t of the same opinion, according to Catalan newspaper Sport, and would like to see the youngster go out elsewhere.

Girona could be the destination, and both the Spanish side and City are ‘trying to convince him’.

As well as Girona, West Ham are said to be ‘showing a lot of interest’ in the player, but he’s still to decide fully on his future. Feeling he has a chance of breaking through at City now rather than in a year or so, the youngster is holding firm.

He has some power because his contract with Manchester City ends in June 2019 and the club won’t want to risk losing the player for nothing.

Whilst Brahim feels he can impress Guardiola during preseason, Sport say ‘if he finally comes to his senses’ and sees he won’t be getting enough minutes at City, then a loan to Girona, West Ham, or another interested club looks likely.

City would surely need a contract renewal before that happens.

West Ham have been linked previously, and Sport have brought the Hammers back into the equation.
