Manchester City are part of a group of several sides keeping an eye on Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram.
That’s according to BILD, who say City could end up battling the likes of Barcelona, and Juventus for his signature, with the three club labelled the ‘most interested parties’. Real Madrid also get a mention, but not in that group.
Thuram has emerged as one of the most exciting young players in Europe at present after impressing for Monchengladbach since joining them in an £8m deal last summer.
Last season saw him bagging 14 goals and nine assists in 39 games in all competitions, and he’s started this season in a similar vein, with three goals and five assists in 10 games thus far.
The German newspaper says that his ‘explosive development’ and his age has caused clubs to start lining up and his agent, Mino Raiola, is naturally hard at work.
He already has a ‘short line’ to AC Milan, who are interested in the forward, but his dad is also part of it all as well.
The former defender has ‘excellent contacts’ with Juventus and Barcelona.
There’s no mention of an asking price from Borussia, but it is made clear that after another ‘corona season without fans’ they may be forced to sell their top stars next summer.
That could give City the chance to get their man, although it seems if they make their move, they’ll face plenty of competition.
