Manchester City defender Ko Itakura is close to completing a move to Borussia Mönchengladbach.
That’s according to Sky Sports Germany, who say the centre-back has already completed a medical with the German side.
They report that Itakura ‘completed his medical check’ at Borussia Park on Friday and has already reached an agreement with the Bundesliga club on contract terms.
Itakura spent last season on loan with Schalke, who had an option to make the move a permanent one but could not do so due to their own financial limitations.
That’s left Itakura looking for a new club, with Manchester City making it clear he is not a part of their plans moving forwards.
He’s subsequently been linked with a move to Borussia Mönchengladbach, and it seems that switch is now imminent, with Sky reporting he underwent a medical yesterday.
The outlet also explains that an agreement has been struck with Manchester City, with them set to pocket ‘just over €5m’ from the transfer.
They are now working so that the defender can travel with the German side for a training camp in Tegernsee next week, with the deal expected to be made official ‘in the coming days’.
