Manchester City defender Issa Kabore ‘has attracted the interest’ of German side Augsburg this summer.
That’s according to Augsburger Allgemeine, who cover the potential move for the 21-year-old full-back.
The newspaper explains that in the new system being employed by Augsburg under Enrico Maaßen, the wing-back position is a particularly important one.
The club wants to reinforce in the position but need to find a player who can both aid the team going forwards and strengthen them defensively as well.
They have already ‘expressed’ their interest to Pep Guardiola and co, with the player’s entourage confirming as much.
However, whether a deal will go through is entirely a ‘question of money’ at this moment in time.
It is ‘doubtful’, Manchester City would simply let the player leave on a free as he’s contracted until 2025, so a loan deal is ‘more likely’.
There has been interest elsewhere, with Nottingham Forest said to have made a bid of £17m earlier this summer, which was rejected. Southampton have also been named as suitors.
Augsburg have now joined the list of suitors and made their interest clear to those in charge at the Etihad.
