Milan, having now qualified for the Champions League after finishing in the Serie A’s top four, are looking to make their squad stronger ahead of a challenging season.
Most around them are changing dugout setups, with just two of the top 10 teams retaining their current managers, and there’s hope that stability could trump instant desire for success, meaning the best players need to stay too.
That’s why Milan are keen to tie down Franck Kessié, who is allegedly attracting attention from the Premier League, with Manchester City reportedly interested.
Corriere dello Sport are the ones reporting it on Friday, explaining ‘there is no shortage of fans from abroad’ when it comes to the Ivory Coast international.
They add ‘Manchester City, as well as Paris Saint-Germain, are lurking and have already asked for information’.
The problem with that, however, is that Paolo Maldini and Federico Massara ‘have no intention of letting a player with unique characteristics in Serie A escape’.
That means Pep Guardiola and co. will need to either throw the kitchen sink at Milan to convince them otherwise, or just wait until a more opportune moment.
Either way, it seems very difficult for Manchester City to get their hands on Kessié anytime soon.
