Manchester City loanee Daniel Arzani is returning to the club, according to claims from the Netherlands today.
Outlet Utrecht Fans is the one reporting that the winger’s spell at the Eredivisie side is being cut short in the January transfer window.
They point out that despite the initial excitement over his signing, the 22-year-old has been struggling to get any playing time for the club, with only five appearances for the first team so far.
That’s why Utrecht don’t count on him for the rest of the season, although it’s not made clear which side made the call to end the spell.
Arzani joined Manchester City in a move from Melbourne City back in 2018. This is the second loan he’s had, following a two-year spell at Celtic where he only made two appearances, having also struggled with injuries.
Since his contract with the Premier League side expires in the summer, it now looks like the player will soon become a free agent, unless a new transfer can be pushed this month.
