We have a new kid on the block after Stefan De Vrij, and it’s Manchester City.

So far, we’ve seen the Dutch centre-back linked consistently by various sources with Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United, yet Pep Guardiola’s side, probably a club who will need a new centre-back again in the near future, have never appeared before today.

At the end of the day, it makes sense, what with Vincent Kompany, despite playing a bit more regularly, always a bad move away from being injured again and Nicolas Otamendi on the wrong side of 30.

Il Tempo are the ones suggesting the Spaniard would be interested in bringing in the Dutch international, although it appears Inter remain the favourites to secure his services.

Of course, if it all comes down to money, we know who is going to win this battle, yet, at 25, it wouldn’t be surprising to see De Vrij choose the club where he’ll play the most, and that won’t be at Manchester City.

This is all very new, and there’s not a lot to it just yet, so we’ll have to wait and see if this becomes a recurring thing.

We’re just letting you know it’s there.
