Manchester City have been in ‘concrete’ contact with Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman about a potential transfer this summer.
That’s according to Sky Germany, who say Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona have all been in contact with the player’s father, who is also his agent, to discuss his future.
Sky explain that, at this moment in time, Coman has not been asked to find a new club by Bayern, despite reports to the contrary.
He is perfectly happy at the Allianz Arena at this moment in time but, should such a command arrive from the club, he would look at his options.
City boss Pep Guardiola worked with Coman during his time in Bavaria and would seemingly like to rekindle that relationship if the opportunity is there.
Sky Germany, though, dismiss the chances of Coman leaving, saying it is ‘relatively unlikely’ he will leave given he has a contract until 2023, and it doesn’t contain any clauses.
They do, however, posit that much will likely rest on what happens with Leroy Sané. Coman is acutely aware of the interest in the German and should he arrive from Manchester City it could change the situation.
You see, Coman has made it clear to the club he wants to play down the left, which would see him in direct competition with Sané should he arrive.
That is a battle he is likely to lose given Sané would be this summer’s star arrival, and in such circumstances, Coman may ‘look at the situation’ and decide to move on.
